Students Together for Service (STS) is an educational, non-profit, service organization devoted to provide systematic coordination among the affiliated service organizations in order to increase student and community involvement, streamline initiatives to optimally manage time and resources and, in general, promote the growth of each component organization while greatly improving their combined capacity to serve predominantly, but not exclusively, Galveston County.
As a UTMB student, how can I get involved with STS?
- Come to monthly board meetings – We are entirely student-driven so our meetings are open to all who are interested in the behind-the-scenes planning and coordination of our various projects. Check out the Calendar to see when our next one is.
- Join the STS Board – Interested in being more actively involved with STS? Let us know, and we’ll add you to our list.
- Service Funding – If you or your organization/group has an idea for a service project and need funding or other types of assistance, we’d love to hear from you. You can either fill out a Request for Service Funding, or contact Kat Joel-Reich, kjoel@utmb.ed or any of the officers.
- Get involved with our Affiliated Student Service Organizations! Frontera de Salud, St. Vincent’s Clinic, S.I.G.H.T., and other groups offer opportunities to help out with the local Galveston communities and outside-Galveston communities either on a regular basis or a one-time deal.
